Statment of Faith

HOLY SCRIPTURES:
The 66 books that make up the Old and the New Testament were given by the inspiration of God. The Holy Scriptures alone are the only sufficient, certain and infallible rule of the knowledge, faith and obedience that constitute salvation. These books were given by God to be the rule or standard of faith and life.*Deuteronomy 31:9-13* Deuteronomy 31:24-26* Joshua 24:26 *Isaiah 30:8 * Jeremiah 30:2 * Jeremiah 36:2-4 * Jeremiah 36:27-31 * Jeremiah 51:60 *1 Corinthians 14:37 *2 Timothy 3:16-17 * 2 Timothy 2:15 * 2 Peter 1:3 * 2 Peter 1:16-21 * 2 Peter 3:1-12
GOD:
There is but One Living and True GOD. He is the maker, preserver and Sovereign Ruler of all things. HE is perfect, Infinite, all knowing, self-existent, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty. GOD is Most Holy and wise, loving, merciful, compassionate, Just and Right in all that He does. *Genesis 1:1-31 * Deuteronomy 4:35-39 * Deuteronomy 6:4 * 1 Chronicles 29:11 * Psalm 103:6-14 * Psalm 145:8-13 *Isaiah 55:8-9 * John 10:30 * 1 Corinthians 8:4-6 * Ephesians 3:9 *Ephesians 4:6 * Romans 11:36
TRINITY:
Three Persons make up the Godhead or “The Trinity,” God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit. Each being fully God yet with distinct personal attributes. The Godhead being One, cannot be divided.
THE FATHER:
First Person of the “Trinity,” He is the creator of all things. The Father is the only Ruler in the universe. He is sovereign in creation, providence and redemption. The Father continually, upholds, directs and governs all creatures and events. God the Father decrees all things that shall come to pass. He is Father to the Son who is begotten of Him. As our creator He is Father to all men, but is only Spiritual Father to those who believe. Genesis1:1-31 * Ephesians 3:9*Malachi 2:10 * Acts 17:24-26 * 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 * Romans 11:36 * Psalm 103:19 * Hebrews 1:5-6 * Ephesians 4:6 * Romans 8:14 * 2 Corinthians 6:8 * Ephesians 1:11
THE SON:
Second Person of the “Trinity”, is the Son of God. He and the Father are One. He is the image of the invisible God, the First born of all creation. All things have been created through Him and for Him. At God’s appointed time, Christ emptied Himself, took upon Himself, the form of a bond-servant, being made in the likeness of men. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin, Mary. Christ accomplished redemption for those the Father has given Him by sacrificially laying down His life. He took upon Himself the punishment due us. He bore our sins and was accursed for our sakes. His death was upon a cross, was buried, God raised Him from the dead on the third day. He has ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for those who are His. At God’s appointed time He will return to receive His Church and to judge men and angels.*John 10:30 * John 14:9 * Colossians 1:15-17 * Philippians 2:5-8 * Colossians 2:9 * John 1:1 * Matthew 1:18-25 * John 10:5* Romans 3:24-25 * Romans 5:8 * 1 Peter 2:24-25 * Galatians 3:13 * Galatians 4:4 * Acts 5:30-32 * Acts 13:29-30 * Hebrews 7:25 * Matthew 22:44
THE HOLY SPIRIT:
Third Person of the “Trinity” Helper, Sent by the Father, He is the Spirit of Truth. The Holy Spirit works effectively and powerfully to give faith, to sanctify and to preserve God’s adopted children in Christ. He works through the word of God to teach and guide into all truth.
*John 15:26 * John 14:16 * John 3:5-8 * John 14:26* Romans 8:9,15 * Romans 10:14 * John 16:13 * Matthew 28:19 * Acts 5:3-4 * Acts 28:25-26 * 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 * 2 Corinthians 13:14 * Jeremiah 31:31-34
MAN:
Man, male and female were created in the image of God, in righteousness and holiness. When God created man, He entered into a covenant of life with him commanding him saying, “from any tree of the garden you may eat but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day you eat of it you will surely die”. Man left to the freedom of his own will, fell by eating from the tree in which God had commanded he not eat and sinned against God. Through Adam, sin entered into the world and death through sin, death spread to all men. All men by their fall lost communion with God and are in need of a Redeemer.
*Genesis 2:16-17 * Colossians 3:10* Ephesians 4:24* Romans 5:12* Romans 5:17* Genesis 3:6-13* John 8:34* Genesis 3:15* Genesis 3:17* Matthew 20:28* Hebrews 9:15

SALVATION:
Salvation is wholly the work of God by the free gift of grace, apart from works. Salvation is wholly through the redemptive work of Christ by His death on the cross, the shedding of His precious blood. Salvation is wholly a supernatural work accomplished by God through (A)Regeneration: or new birth; is accomplished by the work of the Holy Spirit who makes alive those who are dead in their trespasses and sins. He enlightens the mind to understand the word of God, works faith in us, renews the whole nature and unites us to Christ. (B) Election: Wholly the work of God; before the foundation of the world God chose in Christ those whom He would graciously save and sanctify. (C) Justification: God pardons all our sins, accepts us as righteous because of the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, received by faith alone. (D)Sanctification: Renewing of the old man into the image of God, by His word and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The new man is enabled more and more to die to sin and live righteously. (E) Security: Those whom God has accepted in His Son, and sanctified by His Spirit will never totally fall away from grace. They are kept by the power of God. (F)Separation: True salvation will be marked by a changed life. The true believer is to be separate from the world. The Christian life is a life of obedience, a continual separation from sin, a life being conformed to the truth of God’s word.
Regeneration: *John 3:3-7 * Titus 3:3-7 * Ephesians 2:8-9 * Election: * Romans 8:28-30 * Ephesians 1:4-11 * 2 Thessalonians 2:13 * 2 Timothy 2:10 * 1 Peter 1:1-2 Justification: John 1:12 * Romans 3:24 * Romans 4:5-8 * Ephesians 1:7 * Philippians 3:8-9 Sanctification: John 17:17-19 * Romans 6:1-23 * 2 Corinthians 3:18 * 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 * 1 Thessalonians 5:23
