Do You REALLY Believe ALL the Scriptures?

Have you ever come face to face with the fact that you may not believe all that the Scriptures teach? Join me today at Satisfaction Through Christ as I discuss this topic.

Do you sometimes find yourself doubting the word of God? The Bible says all Scripture is God breathed.Do you really believe all the Scriptures? I have been in church all my life. I remember going to church every Sunday morning, Sunday night,and Wednesday night. I remember being in Sunday school and participating in many years of VBS. I even taught Sunday School and VBS. I spent 14 years of my adulthood with the same people in the same church. I always believed that “I believed” everything that is written in Scripture. I  also believed everyone that attended church believed it too. I soon learned that just because someone

  • goes to church
  • says they are a Christian
  • says they believe the word of God

{Reading the Book of 1 Thessalonians~Week 5}

Message of encouragement: Knowing and Expressing our Faith

Finding encouragement when you do not know you need it! We are reading through the book f 1 Thessalonians learning how to live under suffering. We would love for you to join in with us!As I have read and re-read this book over the last several days I cannot help but think about the faith, the love, and the steadfastness of hope the Thessalonica church understood and expressed.  This church was conceived under much tribulation and that tribulation continued after its conception. I think we forget, we do not think about,  or do not grasp the fact that from the beginning of the church’s existence  it has been under attack. News Flash, persecution, and suffering will never cease for the church. This is not our home. We are aliens and strangers in this place.  Our call is to live victorious through Christ and call sinners to repentance amidst the hostility and persecution of the world. But as we can see through the words of this book we have a living hope and a gospel that comes with power! Continue reading

{Reading The Book of Colossians~ Week 4}

Be watchful in a Deceptive World: Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

Are you being led astray by the deception of the world and traditions of man? Read the book of Colossians with us and learn how as a believer to not be led astray. Paul begins this letter  giving thanks to God for the faith that these believers had for Jesus Christ and their love for the brethren. Their faith and love had its root in the hope of the gospel, the word of Truth. The word of truth that bears fruit and is always increasing. Fruit that will last and will never  pass away.

As a new believer, we start out with so much joy and excitement. This is as it should be. But, then life creeps in and this joy and excitement tends to waver, doubt comes in and takes the place of joy and begins to crowd out our hope. Remember Eve and the garden? Satan plants a seed of doubt and if we are not looking to Christ our hope of glory that seed of doubt begins to grow and if we do not cut it off through the truth of the word it soon becomes a fortress of weeds and obscures the beauty and the security of the truth that is ours. {Reading the Book of Philippians week~3}

Joy on the journey: An Attitude LIKE CHRIST

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

Paul begins this letter to the church at Philippi with an attitude of Joy. While confined in the walls of prison Paul still found great joy in writing this letter to his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. He was not looking at his present circumstance for he knew that it would turn out for the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He knows and understands that his imprisonment is for the cause of Christ. Paul’s heart beat  for the cause of Christ and he welcomed whatever that meant.  Whether it be  living in prosperity, being filled or  being hungry, having abundance and suffering.  He knew he had the strength of Jesus Christ to do all things that God called him to do.  What a Christ-like attitude! {Reading the Book of Ephesians~Week 2}

Put on your armor because the church is under attack!

We are reading Truth over at Conforming to The truth. This weeks reading is in the book of Ephesians. We are learning to put on the full armor of God. We would love for you join us!

Paul went to Ephesus on his third missionary journey. He spent three years in this city preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. God was performing extraordinary miracles  through the hands of Paul. Many believed and were confessing and disclosing their ungodly practices, witchcraft being  one we learn about in Acts 19:17-20. We see in this same passage that many who practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of everyone. The word of the Lord was growing mightily and prevailing.
