{Bible Study in the Book of Titus}

Showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.  Titus 2:19

Book Cover for Titus Bible StudyLearning to adorn the doctrine or teachings of God is to read and study His word so that we may learn what is pleasing to Him. When we study we show ourselves approved unto God which brings glory and honor to His great name. Through prayer and study, we ask God how we are to act and behave in this world and in the body of Christ. God’s word guides us and teaches us how to adorn or walk in a manner worthy of our calling. Titus is a small book but is packed with much doctrine and teachings. We learn how men and women are to function in the church. We learn God’s standards for selecting a godly elder. We are given instruction as to how to conduct ourselves in the workplace and how we are to act towards our government and those outside the church. When we learn the truths from the word of God  and conform our lives to the teachings in this book the doctrine of God will be worn well and God will be glorified in us.  Continue reading

I am the way, and the truth and the life. John 14:6

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father full of grace and truth. John 1:14

He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. Revelation 19:13

By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, was vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on on the world, taken up in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16

Jesus Christ Our Savior

There is no other name under heaven which man can be saved. Therefore having overlooked the days of ignorance, (Acts 17:30-31)God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through the Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men, by raising Him from the dead.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children:and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2

Christ is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. Ephesians 5:23b

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her with the washing with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. Ephesian 5:25-27

Jesus Christ Our Savior

We once were immoral, greedy, impure and a covetous people. We once were unholy and blameless. Christ gave Himself up as an offering and sacrifice to God to purify us, to cleanse us for Himself. We are through the shedding of His precious blood, cleansed and washed. We are His church, His Bride and we will stand before Christ in all our glory with no spot or wrinkle and we will be holy.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we may be holy and blameless before Him. In Love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. Ephesians 1:3-8

In Him, you also after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13-14

Jesus Christ Our Savior

Even though we knew God, we did not honor God or give Him thanks. There was no fear of God in our hearts. We professed to be wise but we were foolish. We exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image. But, God being rich in mercy in His great love sent His Son to shed His blood, so that those who have believed may be saved. In Christ we have been redeemed, we have had out trespasses forgiven. The riches of God’s grace has been lavished on us through Christ. We are now His possession and have been sealed in Christ with the Holy Spirit of promise. We praise You and give You all the glory! Amen

The Command of God

apple-tree-493648_1280

The Command

Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” Genesis 2:15-17

 The Savior

Being found in the appearance as a man, He humled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Philippians 2:8
