How To Pray for Godly Marriages

Do you know how to pray for a godly marriage? I am over at Satisfaction Through Christ today talking about “How to pray for godly Marriages.” Please come and join me!

I remember the day he was born. 8 pounds 81/2 ounce bouncing baby boy! He was the best baby always smiling always content. Today he is  a 23-year-old happy, content, smiling, adult young man, with a wife! On June 13th, Andrew and Katie celebrated their 1 year Anniversary! Where in the world does the time go?

From the time, he was born until the day he married I  prayed for him and his  future wife. I prayed that as he waited for the young lady that God had picked for him he would  grow in his relationship with the Lord and the Lord would teach Him through His word how to be a godly husband and one who knew what it meant to be the head of his household.

We need to learn how to pray for godly marriages. God has given us instructions in His word on how to pray. Let's seek His face and pray for godly marriage.

I prayed for the young woman who would someday be his wife. I prayed that  God would grow her into a godly wife and to teach her the Biblical definition of what it means to be a submissive wife. God has answered prayer and my son Andrew has  grown and is still growing  into a godly man. Katie my new daughter is a godly young lady and still growing as well.

The Church is Entrusted with the Truth of the Gospel: The church is Called to Holy Living

God has entrusted the gospel with the church. Our high calling is holy living. Join Conforming To The Truth as we read through the book of Titus. we would love for you to join us in reading Truth!God called Paul as an apostle, He sent him as a messenger of Jesus Christ and entrusted him with that gospel. The word “entrusted” sticks out to me in this first chapter. I remember in 2 Timothy that Paul told Timothy to entrust the gospel to faithful men.

“The things which you heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2

In this letter to Titus, I believe Paul to be doing the same thing. He has left Titus on the Isle of Crete and entrusted him to set in order what remained or correct the wrong doctrine and practices of the churches. According to chapter 1:10-13 Paul already knew about these men who needed to be corrected and he describes them as: Continue reading

Guarding The Treasure: The Good News of Salvation

Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you. 2 Timothy 1:14

Difficult days are upon us. Men are progressing for bad to worse. Will you join us in a Bible Study in 2 Timothy to learn what the scriptures teach us to look for and how we can stand in these difficult times? The days of Paul’s ministry are coming to an end. He finds himself in a cold cell {4:13} in chains {2:9}with no hope of deliverance {4:6}. According to 2 Timothy 1:15 all who were in Asia turned away from Paul except Onesiphorus who refreshed him and was not ashamed of his chains.

Paul is penning the last letter he will be guided to write. He addresses it to Timothy his true child in the faith. He encourages Timothy but at the same time urges him to stand firm in the faith, and to join him in suffering for the gospel. He exhorts him not to be ashamed of the gospel  nor to be ashamed of him because he is in chains.  I can hear him speaking to Timothy as a father or mother speaks to his or her own child as he says these words,  “Timothy I am in prison but the gospel of Jesus Christ is not imprisoned it is not chained. I am enduring all things for the sake of the elect, those chosen by God before the foundation of the world so that they may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus. Timothy, the gospel must be preached for the sake of the elect. Do not be timid, kindle afresh the spiritual gift that has been given to you and go forth with the true gospel of Jesus Christ.” Continue reading

Do You REALLY Believe ALL the Scriptures?

Have you ever come face to face with the fact that you may not believe all that the Scriptures teach? Join me today at Satisfaction Through Christ as I discuss this topic.

Do you sometimes find yourself doubting the word of God? The Bible says all Scripture is God breathed.Do you really believe all the Scriptures? I have been in church all my life. I remember going to church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. I remember being in Sunday school and participating in many years of VBS. I even taught Sunday School and VBS. I spent 14 years of my adulthood with the same people in the same church. I always believed that “I believed” everything that is written in Scripture. I  also believed everyone that attended church believed it too. I soon learned that just because someone

  • goes to church
  • says they are a Christian
  • says they believe the word of God

{Why Your Daughters Need to be in Your Bible Study!}

I am over at Satisfaction Through Christ today talking about having our daughters in our “Women’s Bible Study classes!”

Bible Study Satisfaction through ChristI grew up going to church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night! All of that time spent except for the worship service I was in a group with other kids. I know some church’s today even separate the littles and the youth from the worship service? More on that another time! Today some churches have small groups that meet in different homes at different times during the week for Bible Study.  I am not saying there is anything wrong with all of these different classes. But what I am saying is that maybe we need to rethink some things.

Have you ever thought about having your daughters in your “Women’s Bible Study Class?’ Me either? Not until God gave me two lovely girls and a desire to train them up to know and fear the One true God. It is so easy to get caught up in tradition and what has always been that we do not think,  maybe somethings need to change. I hope this post gives all of us something to think and pray about.
