There is a Day the World will be Judged Righteously!

Walking through Romans

“In Need of a Savior”

This post goes along with the lessons posted at the end of this writing.

Week-5 Day-2

  • Do not judge me!
  • You do not have the right to judge me!
  • If you loved me you would not judge me!
  • The bible says judge not lest you be judged. (Matthew 7:1)

Most people who quote Matthew 7:1, sadly, do not know the correct meaning of it. It is saying do not judge unrighteously, look at your own life before you  go to another brother and sister and unrighteously try to remove the speck that is in their eye.  There is a place for righteous judgment in the house hold of God! This passage in Matthew actually tells you to take the LOG out of your own eye, “Before” you take the speck out of your brothers or sisters eye.(Matthew 7:5) We must read all of Scripture or we will misinterpret their meaning.  If you are behaving in the same sin or any other sin but still judge your brother or sister Jesus says you are a, hypocrite! (Matthew 7:5)

In the time that we live you are considered a hater if you stand against what someone else believes to be right. In this next section of Romans we are going to learn that there will be a final judgment and it will be executed by The Holy Righteous God.

My message to all of us is to stand on the word of God, teach the truth in love, seasoned with much salt. Because we know the truth and that truth may set someone else free. Do not be afraid to take the speck out of someone else’s eye, it may save them from a multitude of sins!

Romans 2:5-11

This section of Scripture does not give us a plan of salvation but rather warns us of the sobering truth that there will in fact be a final judgment! On that day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord!

Lets take romans 2: 4-11 and learn what they teach about the final judgment of God!

Romans 2:4 says, ” Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?”

This verse is speaking to those that are self-righteous, judging others, and relying on their own good deeds for salvation. Paul is asking them if they think lightly of the righteous judgment of God.  This word “Thinking Lightly” means looking down on, or looking at God’s kindness as inferior and not worth consideration. In contrast we look at this same verse and see even though this person has no regard for God and His word, that God is:

  • Tolerant
  • Patient
  • Rich in Kindness

Romans 2:5-“But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.”

God is being patient and tolerant but there will be a day that He pours out His righteous wrath on those who according to this verse have a:

  • Stubborn/unyielding attitude
  • Unrepentant heart

Romans 2:6-” Who will render to each person according to his deeds.”

Romans 2:11-” There is no partiality with God.”

God will one day pull back His hand of grace and give to everyone what they are due! This passage is NOT TEACHING A WORKS BASED SALVATION! Like I said earlier we must read all scripture in its context and we must keep that scripture in the context of the entire word of God. We know without a doubt that salvation is by GRACE ALONE through FAITH ALONE. No room for works. But, we also know that a true faith produces works that God prepared in advance for us to walk in. Before we move on into these last verse I would like to make a point about giving people what they are due. Every single person who has been or will be on this earth deserves God’s righteous judgment. But because of His grace and mercy alone, those who believe through faith in His son Jesus Christ, will receive mercy in the day of judgment. Not because we earned it, but because He gave it!

The contrast in Romans 2:7-10

Let’s sum up the difference in these two groups:

First Group is looking for honor and glory from themselves for themselves.

Second group is looking for Honor and Glory for God from God.

Can you see the difference? One group is self-centered and everything revolves around them. Second group is God centered and everything revolves around Him.

This is the reason we must :

  1. Know the truth by looking intently at the word of God.
  2. Work out our salvation with fear and trembling. ( Philippians 2:12)
  3. Discipline our body and make it our slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. (1 Corinthians 9:27)

{Bible Study in the Book of Titus}

Showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.  Titus 2:19

Book Cover for Titus Bible StudyLearning to adorn the doctrine or teachings of God is to read and study His word so that we may learn what is pleasing to Him. When we study we show ourselves approved unto God which brings glory and honor to His great name. Through prayer and study, we ask God how we are to act and behave in this world and in the body of Christ. God’s word guides us and teaches us how to adorn or walk in a manner worthy of our calling. Titus is a small book but is packed with much doctrine and teachings. We learn how men and women are to function in the church. We learn God’s standards for selecting a godly elder. We are given instruction as to how to conduct ourselves in the workplace and how we are to act towards our government and those outside the church. When we learn the truths from the word of God  and conform our lives to the teachings in this book the doctrine of God will be worn well and God will be glorified in us.  Continue reading

Celebrating Freedom in Jesus Christ!!!!

fireworks-804838_1280

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

And not only this, but we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:23

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Galatians 5:18

Therefor there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2

For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son. Colossians 1:13

And we wait for His Son from heaven whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 1:10

Lets Celebrate our Freedom in Christ Jesus:

We are set free from the wrath of God to come!

We are set free from the domain of darkness!

We are set free from the curse of the Law!

We are set free from sin and death!

We are set free from the bondage of sin!

I hope you found these scriptures encouraging! Please share your praise to God with us and feel free to share other areas that we are set free.

God Comforts us Through Christ!

flower-594774_1280 (1)

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope and grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and deed. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

What a Blessing to know that in any situation we find ourselves, there is hope and comfort in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
